Picked up a Samsung 40″ full hd LCD today. So far I’ve only hooked up the cable box which isn’t HD. Picture quality considering the upscaling from SD to Full HD resolutions is astounding. Suffering mainly on sports and fast moving sprites.

 The plan is to acquire a ps3 (next month) and the right cabling to hook up my macbook. Hopefully I’ll tracking my progress in aquiring HD signals for the new member of the frogbat’s family.

 

Inter won their 3rd consecutive league title which up to 62 minutes in the last game of the season was in Roma’s hands. Inter had a great 1st half of the season but suffered in the 2nd half as several key players got injured - Stankovic, Vieira, Figo, Dacourt, Samuel and probably the most important - Cordoba. Towards the end of the season Inter made up for their downward trend and put 11 points between them and Roma only to squander that lead in the final days. Ah what liberation. Well now I can cancel my sports channel subscription for the next couple of months.

In spite of your’s truly being promoted, I’m still doing websites - the process is more tortured than ever as I have to divide myself into many little frogbats. 2 website launches so far this year - myhighgrove.com and realcomalta.com

the frogbat is gettin himself his license (hopefully) this year. yeah a bit sad but between a crippled hand, sheer fear of the local roads and being penniless… i’m actually looking into acquiring a vehicle of sorts. Not really caring bout looks or machismo as long as it gets me from point A to point B preferably without costing me much and erm with decent air conditionign I’ll be ok. Having said that, if money was no issue I’d be looking at Astin Martins etc. or the very least a new Mini. I wouldn’t consider an off-road or SUV though I like their size and the fact they were built for the local lunar surfaces I find their sheer size and fuel guzzling nature to be a bit off-putting. Till I saw this :

People wonder why i’m not of a sunnier disposition. I’ve began to figure it out. 

I believe a lot has to do with the fact that I appear to be prone to attracting  some scathing insults from persons (a word I use in the loosest sense  possible) around me. I’m just a poor little ol’ frogbatling minding my own business (ok ok maybe plotting the destruction of mankind but that’s neither here nor there…) when bam. “He’s the walking human version of AIDS!”. So yesh, I’ve been called many a thing in my life… all the names in that particular dictionary then some… motherfuckin asshole bastard from the black latrine is one example (and that’s from family). But a walking version of an incurable deadly sexually transmitted disease – never. I was also called pregnant. So I’m a pregnant yeah with emotion.

 The shriveled up raisin I have in place of a heart is a bleeding. I think I should go around wearing a t-shirt saying “He-Man called me a walking STD”… instead I’ve decided to look into acquiring a voodoo kit, an alibi, a patsy and 5 exit strategies.

…the hurt won’t hurt no more, love. It’s been a while since I’ve updated this blog thingy. I’ve been busy, I’ve been lazy and just like someone who sells pastizzi doesn’t like to go home to eat pastizzi or if you prefer a more global analogy, just like a coffee waitress grows to dislike coffee, the frogbat is not enamoured with after hour website tweaking. I’m meant to be moving away from hands on website production in the coming months so I hope to have more time and a stronger will to create personal projects.

There are two new websites online - www.rocsgrp.com (ROCS group portal site) and www.madlienavillage.com (residence complex) website. Hopefully more of the current work in progress projects go online.

Otherwise I’ve been: playing with the Macheist bundle, MS Office 2008, excited like a little kid cos I’ll be able to pick up my Masterpiece Megatron on Saturday, contemplating the world recession (time to invest in the stock market soon methinks), reading the hobbit 1 page per night, scoffing at the most ridiculous criticisms against Inter (no fairplay cos they continued attacking when the other team had a player sidelined whilst being treated… what next, voluntarily leaving out players from the squad to balance things when a team has too many injured multimillionaires!), over abusing parenthesis again, dreaming of the ultimate os and application gui… yesh i’m that much of a geek.

Wintermoods.net, a site I did some time last year was nominated for a Coca-Cola Malta Music Award for best artist website :D. I was up for one in 2003 for jjoy.com.mt. I didn’t win then and probably won’t won this time round. It was a quickish job but I’m kinda proud of it for its simple but elegant execution. haven’t checked out the competition out yet but I’m sure they’re great sites. The Winter Moods site got the nod mainly due to the band’s popularity and the excellence of the latest album. I’m sure they’ll walk away with many gongs so I wish them the best of luck.
